Conventional machine tools – milling
Objective: Attendees should gain safe basic skills and a working knowledge of mills to support professional training
Participants: Metal work trainees, 1st training year
Duration of course: approximately 3 weeks
Content:
- Planning and steering work and motion sequences.
- Defining worksteps, taking account of the production and economic aspects
- Aligning and clamping
- Workpieces in line with stability and surface protection, aligning and clamping tools
- Milling
- Determining and adjusting the machine parameters
- Producing workpieces in line with coolant requirements using various mills;
- Front, perimeter, face milling
- Longitudinal profile milling
- Partitioning workpieces by direct and indirect partitioning
- Using and classifying millers
- Performing work to the required level of safety level and ensuring the protection of health and safety
- Milling autonomously according to drawings, environmentally responsible working
- Planning, organizing and performing milling projects in line with specifications
- Tolerance and dimensions
- Dimensional accuracy IT 7 (basic tolerance), training in taking measurements using vernier callipers, micrometers and dial gauges
- Testing
- Measuring and testing workpieces
- Assessing the surface quality by visual inspection
- Checking and assessing the results
- Assessing deviations from the reference dimension
All milling work must be performed in compliance with applicable accident prevention regulations.
