Engineering draftsmen for mechanical and plant engineering produce precise construction instructions/technical drawings for plants, equipment, machinery and buildings. Traditionally they worked on a drawing board, but now they use a computer. They map every detail of the designs developed by engineers and designers. They prepare technical calculations (length, duration, angles, forces, speeds, mechanical and thermal processes). Engineering draftsmen work in the engineering departments of industrial firms.
